Father And Son Contractors Serve In Iraq

BILOXI, Miss. - Wilson Heating and Air Conditioning in Biloxi, Miss., is closed - but not because business was slow. It is just that the father and son family business has both the father and son serving in Iraq.

According to a story in the Sun Herald, a newspaper that serves south Mississippi, Staff Sgt. Kevin Wilson and his son Spec. Daniel Wilson are in Charlie Company, 1-155 Infantry Battalion, Task Force 2/11 Armored Cavalry Regiment. A National Guard Infantry Unit based out of Biloxi, Charlie Company was mobilized in 2004 and went to Iraq this past January. The newspaper article said Charlie Company was expected to redeploy to the states in early 2006.

At the time of the article, Kevin Wilson was the company's Master Gunner. Daniel Wilson alternated between being a driver and gunner.

Kevin Wilson joined the National Guard as soon as he realized that his son was deploying. He previously had served in the Navy for 18 years.

The younger Wilson said he looks forward to the day when he and his father can resume HVAC work in Biloxi.
