HOUSTON, TX — Encompass Services Corp., based here, has been awarded a contract worth approximately $18 million to provide electrical construction and installation services for the new Reliant Stadium in Houston.

The 69,500-seat facility will be the home of the National Football League’s (NFL) 32nd franchise, to be known as the Houston Texans, beginning in 2002.

According to Encompass, the contract will include the installation of a high-voltage distribution system, an emergency generation system, a lighting system that must meet NFL broadcast requirements, and millions of feet of wire.

Encompass was awarded the contract by the project’s management firm, Manhattan/Beers, which is a joint venture between Manhattan Construction Co., based in Tulsa, OK, and Beers Construction Co., based in Atlanta, GA.
