NORWALK, Conn. - Emcor Group Inc. has been awarded contracts for a number of major health care projects across the Unites States, Canada, and United Kingdom. The total value of the projects exceeds $150 million.

"The health care sector continues to expand and, as it does, technology and facility upgrades are becoming increasingly necessary," said Frank MacInnis, chairman and chief executive office of Emcor Group.

"Emcor is uniquely qualified to manage the challenges presented by the integration and management of new technology and innovative internal systems and to do so in a way that fits within the financial and long-term strategy of an institution."

According to the Congressional Budget Office, the need for long-term care services for the elderly will more than double during the next 30 years, with aging alone resulting in a 7-percent increase in hospital days per thousand over the next 10 years.

During the past five years, Emcor has completed more than 300 health care-related projects in both the public and private sectors.
