UTICA, NY — ECR International, Inc., has announced that it has signed a letter of intent to acquire Argo Industries Inc., in Berlin, CT. Argo Industries is a manufacturer of fin-tube radiation for residential and light commercial use, electric boilers, and control systems for hydronic applications.

Timothy R. Reed, ECR president and coo, said, “The acquisition of Argo Industries will complement the current product families of ECR International’s heating and cooling divisions and allow ECR to further expand it’s product offering and increase market share.”

Reed also stated that the acquisition of radiation products and controls will allow ECR to offer a complete package of heating and cooling products to its customers. The acquisition is expected to be complete by Fall of 2001. ECR currently operates five manufacturing facilities in the U.S. and Canada, and also markets nine brands of hvac equipment worldwide.
