Dec. 16, 2009: HVAC Energy Management System Wins Hospitality Industry Award

SAN DIEGO - Energy Eye announced that its EYEPOWER™ Solution, an HVAC energy management system, has been selected as the winner of the “Editors’ Choice” Award at the 94th annual International Hotel/Motel & Restaurant Show® (IH/M&RS) in New York City. EYEPOWER was selected as the “Green Technology” award winner at the conference’s opening ceremonies.

Editors from leading hospitality trade publications reviewed nearly 100 submissions of cutting-edge new products, and selected winners based on innovative product design, how a product answers a particular industry need, creative use of material or construction, and development or use of a new technology.

“We are very honored to have been chosen for this award,” said Phillip Kopp, chief operating officer of Energy Eye. “Our team has worked very hard to build a compelling heating and air conditioning energy management solution for hospitality customers across different property types. We are humbled that the IH/M&RS editors recognized Energy Eye and the EYEPOWER Solution in this way.”

“This year’s competition featured a wide array of revolutionary products for the hospitality industry that will have great impact on guest satisfaction,” said Lynn White, show manager. The selection committee stated that the EYEPOWER Solution is “the only HVAC energy management solution that has been rigorously tested for performance and is Platinum Certified by the Globally Green Energy Consortium [GGEC].” GGEC is an international non-profit certification body that sets standards for performance in the energy industry.

According to Energy Eye, the EYEPOWER Solution provides savings of 15-35 percent on HVAC energy usage, delivering its results via the application of occupancy, door, and window sensors, plus thermostat control. And because it is thermostat-neutral, hotel owners can integrate the system into their existing HVAC systems.
