Unlike traditional residential heat pump systems that require backup electric heating whenever the outside temperature is below 45°F, Daikin Inverter Ducted systems provide comfortable heating to 0°, with 100 percent capacity available as low as 14°, says the company. They operate in heating mode down to 0° (and cooling mode from 23° to 115°). It is Energy Star Tier II rated and qualifies for 2011 tax credits. The line also won a 2011 AHR Expo Innovation Award Honorable Mention in the Heating category.
