A new 250-kW diesel generator set (DQDAA) is certified to meet EPA nonroad Tier 3 emissions regulations and can be used for HVACR and other applications. The generator set features a strong motor-starting capability and fast recovery from transient load changes. It accepts 100 percent of the nameplate standby rating in one step. The torque-matched system includes a heavy-duty four-cycle diesel engine, an ac alternator with motor-starting kVA capacity, and an electronic voltage regulator with three-phase sensing for precise regulation under steady-state or transient loads. The standard Power-Command® digital electronic control is an integrated system that combines engine and alternator controls. Optional weather-protective enclosures and coolant heaters allow generators to perform outdoors in a variety of climates.
