EMCOR Group, Inc. (Norwalk, CT), has reported financial results for the three months ending June 30, 2001. Second quarter net income for 2001 was $11.6 million, or $0.81 per diluted share, an increase of 26.9% over net income of $9.2 million, or $0.68 per diluted share, in the second quarter of 2000. Gross profit for the second quarter of 2001 was $92.7 million, an increase of 8.7% compared to the same quarter of 2000.
Encompass Mechanical Services (Jacksonville, FL) is providing full-service mechanical, utility, and plumbing contracting for the $30 million, 125,000- sq-ft AOL/Time Warner Call Center under its contract with Elkins Constructors, Inc., also of Jacksonville. The facility is scheduled for completion in April 2002.
ServiceMaster (Downers Grove, IL) has reported second-quarter 2001 revenues of $1.65 billion, up 4% over the period a year ago, after adjusting for divested operations in the prior period. The company also posted a second-quarter net income of $51 million, compared with a net income of $66 million in the second quarter of 2000.
Northwestern Corp. (Sioux Falls, SD) has reported second-quarter 2001 financial results including net income of $10.8 million or $0.38 per diluted share, compared with a net income of $7.7 million or $0.26 per diluted share in the same period a year ago, an increase of 46% on a per share basis.
