  • The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) has named the winners of this year’s contractor awards. The awards and winners are as follows:
  • — Spirit of Independence, recognizing an individual who has made significant contributions to the hvacr industry: Aaron York, Sr. (Indianapolis, IN).

    — Training Excellence award, recognizing an ACCA contractor who has championed education and made outstanding progress in raising the industry's professional standard: Bruce Thornton, Bruce Thornton Air Conditioning, Inc. (Lubbock, TX).

    — Residential Contractor of the Year, Category 1 (revenue of $1 million or less with 10 or fewer employees): Eric Kjelshus, Eric's Energy (Greenwood, MO). Residential Contractor of the Year, Category 2 (revenue of more than $1 million with 10 or more employees): Tempo Mechanical (Carrollton, TX).

    — Commercial Contractor of the Year, Category 1 (revenue of $4 million or less): GRC Mechanical Services(Hackensack, NJ).

    — Commercial Contractor of the Year, Category 2 (revenue of more than $4 million): Seaman's Air Conditioning — Refrigeration (Grand Rapids, MI).

  • The Better Business Bureau of Central Ohio awarded its Business Integrity Award to Haslett Heating & Cooling (Columbus, OH), in recognition of the company’s high standards of business ethics, conduct, and customer service.
  • Air Force One (Dublin, OH), a multi-state mechanical contractor offering engineering, construction, and related services, announces its intent to acquire Star Mechanical Services (Dublin, OH), a competitor offering a similar portfolio of services.
