The Phoenix Building System draws on a unique resin process in pultruded composite materials designed specifically for the rigors of the field erected cooling tower, the company says. The cooling tower can be used in heavy wind loading and seismic areas as well as harsh, corrosive environmental conditions, states the manufacturer. The company says the higher-strength material allows an open structure utilizing fewer columns, provides UV protection that is two to four times greater than the competition, and has a chemical resistance that tolerates a wider pH range. According to the manufacturer, basin accessibility simplifies maintenance, reducing overall costs.
