Each session of the self-paced learning system is narrated with full audio and video features. Dealers are able to check their skill as they advance through a course and are required to take an online exam at the conclusion of the program.
“The addition of the ProficienTECH online learning system to our Liberties offering provides dealers with another tool to help them succeed while maintaining their independence,” said Brian Batt, technical training specialist for Johnson Controls-Unitary Products. “Dealers choose when and where they want to learn, at a pace that is comfortable for them. The learning system targets specific products and provides dealers with critical information and technical guidance. This allows dealers to install and service the products they sell and provide a level of customer satisfaction unmatched by their competitors.”
Coleman modulating gas furnaces and air conditioning systems were the subject of recent course offerings. Upcoming courses will cover heat pump systems, 33-inch single-stage gas furnaces, and R-410A refrigerant.
Mike McGee, equipment service manager for Coleman distributor Johnstone Supply, is impressed by the level of detail the courses offer. “In my role as technical support for Johnstone contractors, I teach classes on the subjects covered by these courses,” he said. “However, as knowledgeable as I was about Coleman modulating gas furnaces and air conditioning systems, I learned even more through the ProficienTECH offerings.
“The interactive presentation modules and tests are just awesome,” McGee continued. “They’re so much better than anything I’ve seen, thanks to the depth of the material that is presented, on everything from product installation to service and troubleshooting. Liberties dealers will definitely find this information useful as they work with Coleman customers and will appreciate the fact that they can learn at their own pace, whenever they have the time.”
