COURSE DESCRIPTION: Designed for the new hire into the HVAC residential installation and start-up business, this course was specifically developed for the person with minimum training or field experience. This course can also provide the first stepping stone in training for an installer, who is being groomed to advance towards a service technician position. Topics covered include fundamental HVAC system concepts, how to use common heating and cooling tools and test equipment, using refrigerant P/T charts, calculating superheat and subcooling, checking duct size in forced air duct systems and describing installation issues, and reading wiring diagrams. Students are eligible for 3 CEUs.

COURSE TITLE: E2 RX BX CX Control Series

SPONSORING ORGANIZATION: Emerson Climate Technologies

DATE: June 29-July 1, 2010


COURSE DESCRIPTION: The Refrigeration (RX) Building (BX) and Convenience Store (CX) Control Series course emphasizes hands-on experience installing, operating, and servicing the E2 controllers. Participants begin with a hardware overview, and then move quickly to acquire practical skills in navigating the controller, creating applications, peripheral mounting and hardware setup, network installation, and device wiring. Students can earn 16 hours of NATE recognized continuing education credit towards recertification in the area of heat pump air service and eight hours of NATE-recognized continuing education credit towards recertification in the areas of air conditioning installation and service, air distribution service, and oil heating service. Also attendees can earn 2.1 CEUs for this program.
