CIPH Nears Fundraising Goal for Habitat for Humanity

The Canadian Institute of Plumbing & Heating (CIPH), in support of Habitat for Humanity, is nearing its goal of $1 million for the 2006/2007 fundraising campaign. By early February, members have pledged $912,783 dollars in cash and products.

Since 1994, members of this national association have contributed more than $2.5 million in cash and products to Habitat for Humanity Canada and helped over 500 Canadian families move into simple, decent affordable homes.

The 2006 CIPH Charity Committee, led by Paul Lachance (president and CEO, Wolseley Canada) and his committee consisting of co-chair Jim McKendry (Hudson), Don Hambly (GSW Water Products), Tom Meier (Centon), Russ Morgan (IPEX), Louis Pereira (Streamline), Peter Stojanov (Onward), and Jerome Zwicker (Thorndale International), have been working with members to help achieve the unprecedented goal of raising the $1 million to help build 110 homes each year in 2006 and 2007.

"We're into the final stretch and although we are not quite there, I know that with everyone's support, we will go the distance and achieve our goal," Lachance said.

CIPH will celebrate the goal at the CIPH Gala Dinner in Support of Habitat for Humanity Canada, which will take place Wednesday, March 22, 2006 at the Fairmont Royal York Hotel in Toronto during the CMX/CIPHEX 2006 trade show and conference.
