ST. LOUIS - Carrier Corp., a unit of United Technologies Corp., acquired Sharp Mechanical Inc., a St. Louis-based HVAC contractor specializing in the service and repair of commercial equipment. Sharp Mechanical, incorporated in 1988, provides HVAC service to a wide variety of customers, including manufacturers, universities, property management firms, and municipalities.

“We’re pleased to add Sharp Mechanical to the Carrier Commercial Service network,” said Guy Colglazier, vice president and general manager of Carrier Commercial Service. “Their knowledge of the local market and expertise in servicing commercial equipment will help us provide greater value to our customers.”

The business will operate as part of Carrier Commercial Service effective immediately. The acquisition was completed on May 13. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
