Associations for the Week: April 02, 2001

  • The Mechanical Contractors Association (MCA) of Chicago has established a new career center on its website for those interested in learning about careers in the piping industry. The “Career Opportunities” area at www.mca.org lists opportunities available through the MCA/Local Union 597 apprenticeship program.
  • Bill Vale, chair of the HRAI Manufacturers Division (Mississauga, ON, Canada), announces that the Heating, Refriger-ation and Air Conditioning Institute of Canada (HRAI) has finalized an agreement with manufacturers selling residential oil-fired furnaces in Canada, to participate in the association’s HVAC EnerGuide Program. The association says it is receiving full industry participation.
  • Bill Jones of Raven Mechanical (Houston, TX) was elected the chairman of Construction Contractors’ Alliance (CCA) at its recent trustee meeting.
