  • The International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials (IAPMO) (Walnut, CA) will release Uniform Plumbing Code: The Archival Collection 1946 — 1994 on CD-ROM. For more information, visit www.iapmo.org (website).

  • The Refrigeration Service Engineers Society (RSES), the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and the Plumbing-Heating-Cooling Contractors — National Association (PHCC) will co-sponsor “Indoor Air Quality Current Technologies and Applications.” The seminar will be hosted at the ISH North America trade show in Toronto, ON, Canada, on Oct. 31, 2002.

  • The Sheet Metal and Air-Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Chantilly, VA) awarded its $1,200 Women in Construction Scholarship to Gretchen Oxler, a student at Kansas State University studying architecture.

  • The Associated General Contractors of America (AGC) and the Associated Specialty Contractors (ASC) (Falls Church, VA) will hold a summit addressing risks faced by contractors in the construction marketplace. The summit will be held in Palm Desert, CA, from Nov. 8-9, 2002. For more information, visit www.agc.org (website).

  • The Chicago Sheet Metal Contractors Association (CSMCA) (Bellwood, IL) will hold its 2003 Trade Show on March 25 in Oakbrook Terrace, IL. The deadline to reserve exhibition space is Nov. 29, 2002. For more information, call 708-544-7007.

  • The Bay Area Chapter of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association (SMACNA) (Oakland, CA) has invested $100,000 in the New Horizons Foundation, a research and educational program for sheet metal and HVAC contractors.

  • The National Center for Construction Education and Research (NCCER) (Gainesville, FL) will release a residential line of the Contren™ Learning Series in January 2003. For more information, visit www.nccer.org (website).
