2010 ABC Woman of the Year Antoinette Coupe.

MORTON, Pa. - Associated Builders and Contractors Inc. (ABC) named Antoinette Coupe of Oliver Heating & Cooling its 2010 Woman of the Year. ABC honored Coupe at an annual awards gala held in October at the Crowne Plaza in King of Prussia, Pa.

Coupe is the vice president of finance and administration and CFO of Oliver Heating & Cooling (Morton, Pa.). Bringing more than 20 years of HVAC contracting experience to Oliver in 2000, Coupe was the company’s first female manager to be hired on an executive level. During her 10-year tenure, Oliver’s revenue has grown from $6 million and 60 employees to $22 million and 160 employees.

Coupe accepted the ABC award on behalf of her female coworkers, stating at the pinnacle of her speech, “I especially want to thank Lisa McIntyre [accounting and HR manager], Donna Wittman [customer service manager], and all the women at Oliver who have contributed not only to the company’s success but also to my success. These women have made my job easier. Without their teamwork and unrelenting pursuit of excellence, I, as well as Oliver, would not have succeeded.”

Coworker Joan Mitchell said, “[Coupe] is a mentor within the company, helping women advance to their fullest potential.”

Founder and Chief Steward, Joe Oliver described Coupe as a key link in the company’s chain. “Way before we got her, we were looking for her,” Oliver said speaking of Coupe’s character, professionalism, and knack for creating an enjoyable working atmosphere

In addition to her work at Oliver, Coupe serves as secretary/treasurer of the ABC board of directors, and is active in the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA), the Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA), and Women in HVACR.
