ARS/Rescue Rooter Expands in Southwest

PHOENIX - As part of its focus on continued expansion throughout the United States, ARS®/Rescue Rooter®, a privately held, nationwide provider of heating, air conditioning and plumbing services, has purchased Tempe, Ariz.-based Goettl Air Conditioning® through its parent company, American Residential Services LLC.

“We are committed to being the category leader by creating a national network of the best HVAC contractors dedicated to exceptional service and employee satisfaction,” said Dave Slott, ARS/Rescue Rooter president and COO.

“Goettl’s history of demonstrating their commitment to service and employee satisfaction coincides with our vision, and we look forward to continuing our growth through the addition of quality service providers and staff nationwide.”

“Goettl has been a leader in the Southwest market for 70 years, and they have an outstanding leadership team, along with excellent service and sales personnel. We purchased the company because of its strong reputation and longstanding service in the local market, rather than any plans related to equipment manufacturing,” said Elizabeth Young, director of marketing and customer satisfaction.

“Goettl is unique because of its historical experience as both an equipment manufacturer and an HVAC service contractor, and we (ARS) expect to learn from that and the insight it naturally brings.”

Dan Burke, former Goettl president, will lead the company, while Jason Fairfield and John Burke will continue in leadership roles, retaining their current staff and working from their existing headquarters in Tempe. Goettl will maintain its brand name, operating as part of the national ARS/Rescue Rooter Network.

To build on the acquisition, ARS/Rescue Rooter plans to revive the popular, locally recognized Goettl line of air conditioning equipment, the brand built for use in the Southwest environment.

“Almost 70 years ago, Goettl introduced air conditioning to the Phoenix area and has since grown to be one of Arizona’s leading air conditioning contractors,” said Ken Goodrich, ARS/Rescue Rooter southwest division vice president.

“The Goettl team brings a new dimension in engineering and industry insight, and we are proud to have them as part of the ARS/Rescue Rooter family. We look forward to growing our presence in Arizona with a continued focus on superior service.”
