The WLD900 is a wireless LonWorks transceiver capable of transmitting packetized LonWorks information over extended ranges, up to several miles. The WLD900 eliminates the need for long runs of cable and conduit. It is a plug-and-play device, requiring no network management tool to configure on the LonWorks network. It is transparent to the network, not taking up additional point/node space. The embedded patented device receives LonWorks information from one to many LonWorks controllers and transmits the information over a 900-MHz or 2.4-GHz transceiver, receives the information on the other end into the LonWorks front end seamlessly. It can be used in applications such as kilowatt metering, flow metering, complete building automation, HVAC controls, and lighting controls. The devices can be set up as a point-to-multipoint allowing one head end to control several buildings or remote sites.
