AHRI Sponsors AHR Expo Mexico

MONTERREY, Mexico - The Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) Mexico was held Sept. 22-24 in Monterrey, Mexico. According to the Air-Conditioning, Heating, and Refrigeration Institute (AHRI), a co-sponsor of the event, the show drew the largest number of exhibitors of any AHR Expo Mexico.

Approximately 353 exhibitors from 14 countries displayed HVACR wares for 9,052 attendees during the three-day show. The 57,000 square feet of exhibits was the largest exhibitor participation experienced at the AHR Expo Mexico show.

Jack Klimp, CEO of AHRI, led an AHRI delegation, delivering remarks at the opening ceremony stressing the importance of the United States and Mexico cooperating on standards and equipment performance certification in North America. AHRI also held meetings with representatives from key Mexican HVACR standardization and certification organizations to discuss the harmonization and development of industry standards.

Outside of the meetings and ceremonies, AHRI promoted awareness of the association and its mission at its booth in the exhibit hall. According to the association, attendees showed particular interest in learning how to use the AHRI Directory of Certified Product Performance to access information on AHRI-certified products. Questions were also raised about AHRI standards and interest in how to obtain North American Technician Excellence (NATE) certification for technicians.

The AHR Expo Mexico is a biennial show. It will be held again in 2010 in Mexico City.
