MONTERREY, Nuevo Leon, Mexico - The 2008 Air-Conditioning, Heating, Refrigerating Exposition (AHR Expo) - México established five new records with its record-breaking number of attendees and exhibitors including 9,028 in total attendance; 6,404 visitors; 2,624 exhibitor personnel; 355 total exhibiting companies; and 56,910 net square feet of exhibits.

According to the show, one-third of all attendees were either contractors or dealers; while 12 percent were facility, building management, industrial plant or public utilities workers; 20 percent were from distribution; and 11 percent were manufacturers of HVACR or allied equipment and components. Consulting engineers and professionals involved with architecture, design, and building made up 6 percent of attendees.

According to a post-show survey, 94 percent of exhibiting companies felt the number of attendees was “excellent” or “good,” while 92 percent reported that the quality of those attendees was either “excellent” or “good.”

“The overwhelming response to AHR Expo-México reflects the strength of the HVACR industry in Latin America and the need for products that offer greater energy efficiencies and more sustainable solutions,” said Clay Stevens, show manager. “We are thrilled to have shattered all previous show records.”
