TAMPA, Fla. - The Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) announced TAG Mechanical Systems of Syracuse, N.Y., as commercial winner of the association’s 2010 Contractors of the Year program. The winner was announced at the closing general session of ACCA’s 42nd Annual Conference and Indoor Air Expo.
“We had some very notable commercial contracting companies in the running as finalists this year,” said Paul Stalknecht, ACCA president and CEO. “TAG Mechanical has consistently been a leader in the industry, committing itself to being a true resource to its customers, and the building community in general.”
With a focus to stay on the cutting-edge of Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) and other energy efficiency initiatives, TAG Mechanical has made itself a building science expert to its customers. The company requires employees become trained and certified in specialties that fall outside the realm of traditional HVACR. The result is that about 80 percent of the company’s projects fall into a systems-based, holistic approach to integrating HVAC into a building.
