Conoco Energy Solutions (Houston, TX) recently announced the startup of a 420-MW cogeneration power plant at a DuPont chemical plant in Orange County, TX. Conoco is supplying natural gas to the power plant, which provides steam and power to the DuPont Sabine River Works facility.

The power plant, owned jointly by Conoco and NRG Energy, Inc. (Minneapolis, MN), will be generating more power than the DuPont facility needs, and the excess will be sold on the Texas electricity market.
