DOE Seeks Public Input
WASHINGTON — The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) is seeking public input on a variety of topics during the course of the next several weeks.
The DOE will accept comments on a proposed determination regarding commercial and industrial compressors as covered equipment through Feb. 28. Comments on energy-conservation standards for commercial air conditioning and heating equipment are due March 4.
The DOE also has issued a request for information on the development of its commercial energy-asset score. The score provides information regarding the efficiency of a building’s major energy-consuming systems and is intended to enable greater understanding of building performance and potential savings. DOE is developing this program on a volunteer basis as part of its effort to achieve a 20 percent improvement in the energy efficiency of commercial buildings by 2020. Commercial energy-asset comments are due March 11.
Due March 18 are comments for a rulemaking on energy-conservation standards for commercial and industrial pumps, and a rulemaking on energy-conservation standards for commercial and industrial fans and blowers.
Lastly, comments on a proposed rulemaking on test procedures for residential furnaces and boilers are due April 22 with a public meeting scheduled for March 13. For more information, visit 1.usa.gov/15sPuE2.
