The Western Pennsylvania Air Conditioning Contractors of America (ACCA) Chapter will sponsor a heat exchanger inspection course on Thursday, August 19, 2004, in Mars, Pa. The class will be taught by Ellis Prach of Heat Exchanger Experts. Prach has worked in the heating business for over 40 years and is considered one of the foremost experts when it comes to finding cracked heat exchangers.

According to the Western Pennsylvania ACCA Chapter, Prach will present a practical and comprehensive course that teaches inspection techniques and procedures that help service technicians determine the condition of a furnace heat exchanger. In this hands-on training, with as many as 50 different models of heat exchangers, techs will be guided through most inspections that might be encountered out in the field.

Topics to be covered include:

  • How to ensure the health and safety of customers;

  • Prove cracks and holes to the homeowner;

  • Increasing revenue and profit;

  • Identifying defects quickly and efficiently;

  • Awareness of patterns of wear and tear on all types of furnaces;

  • A step-by-step inspection technique; and

  • Clues that tell where to first look for cracks and holes.

    For more information, call 724-779-1860. Seating is limited to 40 people and reservations must be made by August 5.
