Fort Drum To Increase Energy Efficiency
Siemens Building Technologies Inc. has entered into a $2.7 million Energy Savings Performance Contract (ESPC) with Fort Drum in Watertown, N.Y. Under federal mandate, by 2010, U.S. agencies must use 35 percent less energy per square foot in their buildings than they did in 1985. Siemens will help the army base achieve this goal through upgrades to lighting and building automation systems, variable-frequency drives, kitchen equipment, and traffic signals.
