Production of new single-family homes and apartments increased
1.5 percent to a seasonally adjusted annual rate of nearly 700,000 units in
January, according to figures from the U.S. Commerce Department.
In a press release, the company said several firms
had expressed “a
large amount of interest” in purchasing the maker of KlassicKolors and Terne II
metal roofing products.
The U.S. Energy Department tested the efficiency levels claimed by makers
of tankless and storage-style water heaters. The Air-Conditioning, Heating and
Refrigeration Institute said the products had perfect results, unlike most
other appliances tested.
Twenty-nine more metro areas made it onto the
NAHB-First American Improving Markets Index, which now lists 98 markets in 36
states as showing measurable gains.
