Carrier Debuts AquaSnap Modular Heat Pump

COMMERCIAL HEAT PUMP: Carrier's new AquaSnap 30RQM Modular Air-Sourced Reversible Heat Pump, the company says, can be tailored to suit many building sizes and differering building demands, and up to 16 units can be combined.
CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Carrier's commercial systems division has introduced the high-efficiency AquaSnap 30RQM Modular Air-Sourced Reversible Heat Pump.
The AquaSnap 30RQM has a compact footprint, a scalable design, and performance features and options for greater efficiency, a Carrier press release said. Carrier is part of Carrier Global Corp.
The 30RQM can be tailored to suit many building sizes and differering building demands, with reliable performance at low ambient temperatures to reduce the need for traditional boiler systems, which reduces environmental impact while helping to meet sustainability and electrification goals, the press release said. The heat pump can heat water up to 140°F and operate at ambient temperatures below 0°F. It is designed to use the lower-GWP refrigerant R-454B, also known as Puron Advance.
Up to 16 30RQM units can be linked for a total capacity of 320 tons of cooling or 4,222 MBH of heating.
“The modular design of the 30RQM increases redundancy, reliability, and flexibility to operate on either cooling or heating mode depending on your needs and the season,” said Frank Silva, senior manager for chiller product marketing at Carrier. “Carrier is introducing new solutions to help your buildings meet your sustainability goals without sacrificing performance.”
The 30RQM also features Carrier’s SmartVu controls, a variable-speed compressor, and low-noise fans.
