FAIRFAX, Va. — Dewberry, a privately held professional services firm, has announced that Peter Boudouvas, P.E., has joined the firm as a senior electrical engineer in the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and structures (MEPS) department in the New York City office.

Boudouvas brings more than 30 years of experience to the firm’s practice. He has extensive experience designing 13.2-KV, 480/277-V, 208/120-V electrical distribution systems, LED lighting systems, emergency and standby generators, data centers, trading floors, solar and renewable energy projects, addressable fire alarm systems, security, information technology (IT) systems, sub-metering, and other specialty systems, encompassing the production of working drawings and specifications to construction administration and commissioning. His background includes electrical systems design for commercial and institutional facilities, and he is an expert in interpreting the New York City Electrical Code, National Electrical Code, and International Energy Conservation Code. Boudouvas will be supporting business development efforts, client management, mentoring of staff, and helping lead Dewberry’s quality program initiatives.

Boudouvas has led electrical designs for high-profile projects including the 32-MW Long Island solar farm and the design-build of 15 other solar farms ranging in size from 300 kW to 15 MW as well as high-tech automated distribution centers, large distribution delivery warehouses, the Las Vegas City Center, and the $250-million Harbor Lights project in New York City, which consisted of decorative intelligent lighting on nine NYC bridges.

“We’re pleased to have Peter join our New York team,” said Joseph Masiello, P.E., CEM, LEED AP. “He brings a wide variety of experiences to the firm and will help us continue to expand our capabilities in the New York metropolitan area.”

Boudouvas earned a bachelor’s in electrical engineering from New York University’s Tandon School of Engineering (1986), previously known as Polytechnic University, and is a professional engineer in Connecticut, New Jersey, and New York. For more information, visit www.dewberry.com.
