Dewberry promotes six in Raleigh office

Dewberry
February 1, 2019

Dewberry has promoted six staff members within the firm's Raleigh, North Carolina, office. The promotions coincide with Dewberry's ongoing expansion of engineering, architectural, and consulting services in the Southeast, where the firm has practiced since 1984.

Katie Jones, P.E., and Gregory Mills, P.E., CEM, LEED AP BD+C, have been promoted to associate vice president. As the firm’s industrial practice leader, Jones oversees a variety of projects, with particular focus on environmental solutions for pharmaceutical, power, chemical, and food and beverage clients. She recently oversaw the completion of a study for a large pharmaceutical client, allowing the company to save more than $1 million annually in wastewater treatment costs. Jones earned both a master’s in environmental engineering (2013) and a bachelor’s in civil engineering (2003) from the Georgia Institute of Technology and is a member of the American Society of Civil Engineers, American Water Works Association, Society of Women Engineers, and the Water Environment Federation.

Mills is the manager of the firm’s building systems group, where he oversees a variety of project types, including commercial, governmental, K-12, higher education, and research facilities. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Arkansas (1982) and holds a professional engineer’s license in 10 states. Mills is actively involved in multiple organizations, including the Association of Energy Engineers, National Society of Professional Engineers, and the American Society of Heating, Refrigerating, and Air Conditioning Engineers (ASHRAE) where he has held leadership positions for the last several years and recently served as the 2017-2018 president of ASHRAE’s Triangle chapter.

John Teeter, P.E., has been promoted to senior associate and is the department manager for the mechanical group. His expertise includes the design of systems for higher education, K-12, laboratories, pharmaceutical, state government, military, and healthcare projects. Teeter earned a master’s in business administration from the University of Texas at San Antonio (2015) and a bachelor’s in mechanical engineering from the Rochester Institute of Technology (1994). He is a professional engineer in four states.

Ryan Ames, P.E., Dani Cutlip, and Pavel Likhonin P.E., CEM, have been promoted to associate. Ames is a process design leader in the water practice, where he specializes in water chemistry, water and wastewater treatment plant design, and process evaluation and optimization for public and private sector clients. He earned a master’s in environmental engineering from Pennsylvania State University (1998) and a bachelor’s in chemistry from Juniata College (1995). Ames is a professional engineer in two states.

Cutlip is a senior project manager in the telecommunications and design-build group, where she specializes in wireless site deployment and real estate, including site acquisition, zoning, permitting, and regulatory compliance. She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Edinboro University (1996).

Likhonin is a project manager whose expertise includes mechanical designs for healthcare, laboratories, and central energy plants. In 2017, he was named one of Consulting-Specifying Engineer’s 40 Under 40 award-winners. He earned both his master’s and bachelor’s degrees in architectural engineering from Pennsylvania State University (2010). Likhonin is a professional engineer in two states and a member of ASHRAE.
