NEBB schedules clean room seminar, exam

Industry News
January 8, 2015

NEBB will conduct its Cleanroom Performance Testing Certified Technician Seminar and Exam in Honolulu, HI, April 13-15. The registration deadline is Feb. 27, and enrollment is limited.

According to NEBB, the CPT seminar delivers comprehensive training designed to help technicians learn how to work safely and effectively in accordance with industry standards. The goal of the program is to help technicians develop a high level of competence in cleanroom performance testing.

Over the three days, instructors will aim to help attendees understand the NEBB Procedural Standards for Certified Testing of Cleanrooms; learn best practices for certified testing of cleanrooms in healthcare settings and other applications; and review critical guides, standards, and codes for cleanroom testing. Case studies focusing on real-life scenarios and solutions will be presented.

The seminar is intended for individuals with at least two years of cleanroom testing experience. This includes cleanroom operators, hospital facility maintenance and management personnel, pharmaceutical safety professionals, and safety and biosafety professionals. It is also open to technicians seeking NEBB Cleanroom Certified Technicians status and for individuals wishing to refresh or advance their understanding of cleanroom performance testing.

The first two and one half days of the seminar consist of hands on instruction and classroom instruction. Candidates should have a basic knowledge of cleanroom test procedures and math skills that include square and square roots, percentages and equations, particle counters, photometers, laskin nozzles, PSL generators, and air volume and velocity instrumentation.

All tests are optional for the seminar attendees and test costs are not included in the cost of the basic seminar. Additionally, NEBB will offer all examinations to any candidates who wish to be tested but don’t want to attend the seminar.
