Earlier this year, Fireye, Inc. (Derry, NH) a Kidde plc company, announced the acquisition of five control product families from Eclipse Combustion, Inc. of Rockford, IL. Fireye has purchased the designs of these products and the right to manufacture and distribute them. They include flame safeguard products, flame scanners and an actuator line.

After a transition phase, Fireye will release the complete line of products under the "FlameWorx" brand or a new trade name to be determined. This acquisition is a key element in Fireye's strategy to broaden its range of products and to improve their market share. Eclipse retains the trade names of "Veri-Flame", "Bi-Flame", "Multi- Flame," and "Peek-A-Flame," and they will continue to market and distribute these state-of-the-art controls products through their global sales network. This transaction enables Eclipse to continue to provide a complete line of advanced control products for the process heating market.
