CBI Services, Inc., a subsidiary of Chicago Bridge & Iron Company N.V. (The Woodlands, TX), has been awarded a contract to design and build a Strata-Therm(r) chilled water thermal energy storage (TES) tank by District Cooling St. Paul Inc. (DCSP, St. Paul, MN). This will expand the energy system operated by DCSP and its affiliate company District Energy St. Paul (DESP) that heats and cools much of downtown St. Paul from a central energy plant. DCSP delivers cooling through an underground chilled water distribution system, while DESP’s underground hot water distribution system is the largest in North America.
