A nine-week strike is over for unionized sheet metal workers in Ontario's ICI sector after a deal was reached between the Sheet Metal Workers' and Roofers' Conference and the Ontario Sheet Metal Contractors' Association. Daily Commercial News reports

Ratification votes were held across the province the week of June 29 to July 6. Votes were still being counted the morning of July 8.

The timing of a return to work was not immediately known.

The contract covers May 1, 2019 to April 30, 2022. The strike achieved a pay package increase for sheet metal workers of $4.55 over three years. Toronto’s Local 30 will retain a work week of 36 hours and siding and decking will work 37.5 hours per week.
