Whirlwind Steel receives Platinum Safety Partner Award for second year
For more than 64 years, Whirlwind Steel has been a family owned and operated enterprise, safely completing work for over 15,000 buildings. This year, the Texas, Houston-based metal building manufacturer's commitment to safety was recognized once again and was awarded the 2018 Platinum Safety Partner Award for the second year in a row.
Each year, Texas Mutual Workers' Compensation Insurance – Texas' largest provider of workers' compensation – recognizes policyholders with a demonstrated commitment to employee safety through its Work Safe, Texas Program. Of the 70,000 eligible Texas Mutual policyholders, Whirlwind was one of only 200 companies to receive this year's honor.
According to Texas Mutual, Whirlwind provides "the resources necessary to protect employees from workplace hazards," as reflected by the company's "outstanding safety record."
Whirlwind President Ty Sturdivant says the award is evidence of Whirlwind's refusal to cut corners: "One of our company's core tenets is to act with purpose, which means following through on all commitments – including our commitment to safety. We believe in doing things the right way, and this honor is proof of that. We're grateful to Texas Mutual for the recognition and look forward to building on our excellent safety record in the years to come."
