First technology conference sucessful, AMCA says
Air Movement and Control Association International recently brought almost 100 attendees to the Hyatt Regency Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio for its inaugural Air System Engineering and Technology Conference.
The conference was split into two tracks — air systems design and air products and technologies. Attendees were invited to attend both tracks.
“Kudos to Michael Ivanovich (AMCA industry relations senior director), (AMCA meeting manager) Janet Blanchfield and all the AMCA staff who made this event a successful one,” said Mark Bublitz, New York Blower’s vice president of engineering.
Topics in the air systems design track included static pressure; system leakage; energy waste reduction in existing air systems; overhead air-distribution systems international energy conservation code and standards compliance; variable-air-volume ducted air systems design tips; and certification program issues.
Attendees were able to earn up to seven professional-development hours.
“(The conference) provided an excellent venue for our staff to be exposed not only to air-system and fan fundamentals, but the greater expanse of air-system design,” said Bublitz, who co-chaired the event with Ivanovich.
