Ingersoll Rand put on sustainability list
Ingersoll Rand has been named to two sustainability indexes compiled by Dow Jones.
The parent company of HVAC market brands Trane and ThermoKing placed on the research company’s Sustainability World and North America indexes. This is the seventh straight year the green HVAC products company has made the list.
Ingersoll Rand officials said being named to the index means the company is a leader in corporate environmental responsibility.
“There’s more to a company’s purpose than generating great financial results,” said Michael W. Lamach, chairman and CEO at Ingersoll Rand. “We have an obligation to anticipate and address pressing global trends that impact the way we live, work and move. That’s why our focus on business, social and environmental sustainability guides both what we do and how we do it. Inclusion on the Dow Jones Sustainability World and North America indices over the past seven years is an honor, and recognizes the longstanding positive impact our people have on the world.”
Among the company’s commitments to reduce climate change is investing $500 million to reduce harmful emissions and boost use of refrigerants with lower potential global warming effects by 2030. Its EcoWise HVAC brand makes extensive use of such products.
