Miller starts social media contest

Encourages entries using hashtag #whyiweldcontest

Welders who use Miller products have a chance to have their stories featured in the company’s next advertising campaign.

Through June 30, contestants can submit a story, photo or video on social media with the hashtag #whyiweldcontest. A winner will have his or her story featured in Miller manufacturing Co.’s “We Build” print and video advertisements. Besides entering the contest using the hashtag on Instagram, Twitter and Facebook, users can also go to MillerWelds.com or fill out a form on the company’s Facebook page.

“Miller wants to know and share the reasons that drive people to weld and create something new — the things that inspire and make us feel proud,” said Rich Thompson, vice president of marketing at parent company Illinois Tool Works Inc. “This giveaway honors all the good things about welding, because Miller knows that we build better when we build together.”

Website visitors will be able to vote for their favorite contestant. The winner will be announced in August. More information is at www.MillerWelds.com/webuild.
