Ingersoll Rand named to list of ethical corps

Trane parent company comes in at No. 81

April 21, 2017

Ingersoll Rand has made a magazine’s list of the most ethical American companies for the fourth straight year.

The parent company of Trane was No. 81 on Corporate Responsibility magazine’s annual “Best Corporate Citizens” list.

Compiled using 260 data points and publically available data, it judges companies on their commitment to categories such as the environment, climate change, human rights, employee relations, finance, philanthropy and community support.

“CR Magazine is proud to present the only ranking list that doesn’t rely on self-reporting,” said Elliot Clark, CEO of the publication. “Each year, the ‘100 Best Corporate Citizens List’ measures the success of the corporate responsibility movement by celebrating the most successful, most transparent companies who report on their responsible practices. We congratulate those honored on this year’s list for their commitment to corporate responsibility.”

Among the reasons for Ingersoll Rand’s placement on the list was its work to cut the greenhouse gas footprint of its HVAC products by 50 percent by 2020 and expand use of low-global warming potential refrigerants by 2030.

“Ingersoll Rand is committed to improving all aspects of sustainability – business, social and environmental – with the goal of creating long-term value for our people, our customers and the communities in which we live and work,” said Ingersoll Rand Chairman and CEO Michael W. Lamach. “Achieving placement on the ‘100 Best Corporate Citizens List’ for the fourth year in a row is a humbling honor, and we are pleased to again be recognized for transparent and responsible business practices.”
