ASHRAE conference to address energy modeling
ASHRAE’s new Building Performance Analysis Conference, formerly known as the ASHRAE Energy Modeling Conference, will address energy modeling — the main topic of the past four conferences.
This year’s conference takes place Sept. 27-29 in Atlanta and will also focus on subject matter in non-energy building performance analysis and simulation, and the needs of designers and modelers within the industry.
“This conference engages the design aspect of modeling and simulation,” said Dennis Knight, conference chairman. “The conference topics address the work of HVAC engineers, architects and other building design professionals who rely on simulation and modeling tools to perform their day-to-day work and meet their standard of care.”
The American Society of Heating, Refrigerating and Air-Conditioning Engineers' has also announced other conference topics and a call for presenters who can address subject matter such as modeling for and during the design phase, early design modeling and concepts, modeling innovative or new technologies, data visualization and more. Presentation proposals are due March 23. Decisions will be announced April 3.
“The conference’s goal is to serve practitioners with the most up-to-date best practices, work flows and processes required to plan, design, construct and operate high-performing, low-energy consuming, environmentally responsive and responsible, safe, secure and healthy buildings for human occupancy,” Knight said.
