American Residential Services names top performers

Companies from Ohio to Nebraska were among the top-performing American Residential Services service centers recogized at the group's recent annual manager’s meeting in Las Vegas.

“We are an industry leader in HVAC and plumbing services because of our hardworking employees and local management teams,” said Dave Slott, president and chief operating officer of American Residential Services. “It’s an honor for us to recognize and reward our top performers.”

American Residential Services CEO Don Karnes said that the annual meeting is a chance to enjoy the camaraderie of the company’s management team and “most importantly to share best practices and new initiatives that fulfill our vision to maintain a best-in-class customer service experience,” he added.

This year’s top-performing service centers and employees include:

  • General Manager of the Year was awarded to Lance Fernandez from Yes Las Vegas.
  • Customer Service/Quality Branch of the Year for Plumbing was awarded to Rescue Rooter in Salt Lake City.
  • Customer Service/Quality Branch of the Year for HVAC was awarded to Columbus Worthington Air in Columbus, Ohio.
  • Home Depot Branch of the Year for Plumbing was awarded to Rescue Rooter in Riverside, California.
  • Home Depot Branch of the Year for HVAC was awarded to American Residential Services in Miami.
  • Corporate Support Award was awarded to Mario Rodriguez, who has been with American Residential Services for 20 years.
  • Safety Branch of the Year in the West Division was presented to Yes Las Vegas.
  • Safety Branch of the Year in the Southern California Division was awarded to RightTime Services in Orange County.
  • Safety Branch of the Year in the Texas Division was awarded to American Residential Services of Dallas/Fort Worth.
  • Safety Branch of the Year in the Southeast Division was presented to American Residential Services in Orlando, Florida.
  • Safety Branch of the Year in the Central Division was awarded to Rescue Rooter of Columbus, Ohio.
  • Overall Safety Branch of the Year was awarded to American Residential Services of Omaha, Nebraska.
  • Most Improved Branch Profit Dollars was presented to Yes! Las Vegas, which increased profit by 38 percent.
  • Largest Revenue Increase in Plumbing was presented to Rescue Rooter in Atlanta. The company saw its revenue increase by 59 percent or $1.4 million.
  • Largest Revenue Increase in HVAC was awarded to Columbus Worthington Air in Columbus, Ohio. The company saw its revenue increase by 27 percent or $2.2 million.
  • Turn-Around Branch of the Year was awarded to American Residential Services in Miami. Its year-to-date branch revenue is up 32 percent or $1.1 million.
  • Highest Margin Branch in Plumbing was presented to Rescue Rooter in Atlanta. The branch has an overall profit margin of 27 percent.
  • Highest Margin Branch in HVAC/Combo was awarded to Yes! Las Vegas. The branch has an overall profit margin of 26 percent.
  • Most Profitable Branch in Dollars for Plumbing was awarded to Rescue Rooter of San Diego. Revenue has increased 9 percent to $9.2 million.
  • Most Improved Combo Shop Gross Profit for Plumbing was awarded to American Residential Services of North Houston. The plumbing service line at the Houston branch has revenue of $9.9 million.
  • Most Profitable Branch in Dollars for HVAC/Combo was presented to Yes! Las Vegas. The branch has revenue of $20.7 million.
  • Most Improved Region was presented to Southern California, which saw revenue grow 8 percent to $36 million.
  • Highest Profit Margin Division (EBITA) was awarded to the Central Division, which had an overall margin of 15 percent for 2016.
  • PROS/NPS for the West Zone was awarded to Rescue Rooter in San Diego, which had a Net Promoter Score of 57.4 and a 9.2 average on a scale of one to 10.
  • PROS/NPS for the East Zone was awarded to American Residential Services of Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, which had a Net Promoter Score of 67 and an 8.7 average (on a scale of one to 10).
  • Division of the Year was presented to the Central Division, which has seen a revenue growth of 10 percent to $85 million.
