Bell & Gossett has released a pump selection criteria standard that it says will save energy and reduce costs.
The company’s part load efficiency value selection criteria uses real-world HVAC market system demands to help engineers make the right choices, officials say.
“PLEV is the answer to the industry’s demand for the most efficient pump selection, by taking into account the entire variation profile and flow requirements based on the actual heating or cooling load in a commercial building HVAC system, not just the design model,” said Mark Handzel, vice president of product regulatory affairs and director of HVAC commercial buildings in the Americas at Bell & Gossett parent company Xylem. “This formula will enable professionals to more precisely specify the appropriate pump for the application, helping to reduce both energy use and operating costs throughout the lifetime of the product.”
