Nortek Global adds codes
Nortek Global HVAC is placing quick-response code labels on its products to help HVAC construction contractors find answers to their problems.
“Contractors call us for technical help, and many times the answers are in the literature,” said Matt Lattanzi, director of warranty and technical services at Nortek. “Having a way to quickly scan a code on the product and find the necessary documents can reduce lost time on the job and help ensure the equipment is installed and/or serviced correctly.”
Contractors can use a QR code reader on their smartphones to scan the label, which will then link directly to the specific model information on the company’s online literature library. Documents available through the QR codes include installation instructions, charging charts, replacement parts lists and wiring diagrams.
So far, Nortek Global HVAC has implemented the new codes on its split system air conditioners.
