Danfoss given governor's award

HVAC construction company lauded for state investments

February 18, 2016

Danfoss has been given a business award from Florida Gov. Rick Scott for its investment in the state.

The HVAC construction company was given the award to mark its investment in Tallahassee, Florida, where Danfoss Turbocor Compressors built a manufacturing facility in 2011. Today, the plant employs 200 and designs and makes 10,000 compressors for the HVAC market each year.

In December, Danfoss broke ground on a 22,000-square-foot laboratory for testing HVAC construction equipment, scheduled to open this year.

The award was presented to Danfoss Turbocor Compressors President Richardo Schneider in a Jan. 29 ceremony.

“Our roots in the local economy run deep—and we are growing,” said Schneider. “We are proud to house here in Florida the engineering and manufacture of high-efficiency technologies that impact the places we live and work. As the demand for energy continues to grow around the world, the production of energy-efficient technologies creates modern, high-tech, sustainable jobs that benefit both the national and local economies. Tallahassee is the global design center for magnetic and compressor technology, and our operations here play a vital role in advancing technology.”

Scott thanked the company for its commitment to the state.

“It was an honor to recognize Danfoss Turbocor with the Governor’s Business Ambassador Award for their commitment to creating jobs for Florida families, and I look forward to their continued success,” he said.
