Job growth, an improving economy and steady demand should make this year a good one for housing, the NAHB says.

"There are a number of positive indicators that provide solid evidence this will be a good year for housing and the economy," said National Association of Home Builders Chief Economist David Crowe.

Crowe made the comments at last week’s International Builders’ Show.

Private-sector job growth has averaged 240,000 a month for two years, gross domestic product is on a pace go above 2015 levels, and consumer confidence is close to what it was before the Great Recession, Crowe said.
