32 buildings recognized for indoor air quality practices

The National Air Filtration Association has named more than two dozen buildings where owners have made strides to significantly improve their indoor air quality.

The 32 recipients of the 2015 Clean Air Awards were recognized for increasing the efficiency of their HVAC air filtration systems. Candidates are nominated by both NAFA members and members of the facility management community, and submitted detailed and steps taken toward cleaning the indoor environment using better air filtration and system hygiene. 

Award-winning buildings must have good air quality and submit inspection data each year in order to maintain the prize.

The 2015 recipients are: 3050 Post Oak Blvd. in Houston; Bentall-Kennedy in Vancouver, British Columbia; the Bow Building in Calgary, Alberta; Cadillac Fairview/Pacific Centre in Vancouver; Camosun College Fisher Building in Victoria, British Columbia; Chase Tower in Detroit; Commercial Place in Edmonton, Alberta; Detroit Medical Center Children’s Hospital in Detroit; Office Management Corp. in Calgary; Dream Office Management Corp. in Calgary; Elbow River Casino in Calgary; Federal Reserve Building in Detroit; Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky, Ohio; Greenspoint Place in Houston; Grey Eagle Resort Casino in Calgary; Harry Hays Building in Calgary; Metropolis at Metrotown and Metrotowers Ivanhoe Cambridge in Burnaby, British Columbia; Plaza 1000 in Calgary St. David’s South Austin Medical Center in Austin, Texas; Select Specialty Hospital in Jackson, Mississippi; South Park I, II, III and IV in Calgary; University of Kansas Breidenthal Bioscience and Technology Business Center in Kansas City, Kansas; Wells Fargo Advisers in St. Louis; and Williams Tower in Houston.
