Trane parent company to attend Paris climate change talks
Trane parent company Ingersoll Rand is among those taking part in climate change talks now under way in Paris.
Representatives from Ingersoll Rand are to participate in the Business Council for Sustainable Energy Thursday, where they will discuss low-global warming-potential HVAC market refrigerants and other green HVAC and HVAC construction technology options.
“Convening with industry leaders, researchers and governments in Paris is central to our company-wide Climate Commitment to learn, educate and guide the road map toward lower GWP options,” said Didier Teirlinck, an executive vice president at Ingersoll Rand. “We are pleased to be part of this global forum and to have recently signed the “American Business Act on Climate Pledge.” This demonstrates our support for action on climate change and successful agreements in Paris.”
The act is a White House initiative to garner business support to fight climate change.
In 2014, Ingersoll Rand said it would cut the greenhouse gas emissions of its HVAC market products by 50 percent by 2030 and a 35 percent reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of its offices and HVAC construction facilities by 2020.
