SMACNA elects president
Contractor will serve 1-year term with sheet metal works group
SMACNA has a new president.
Guy Gast, president of Des Moines, Iowa-based Waldinger Corp. became head of the HVAC constrcution group the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors’ National Association earlier today. Gast will serve a one-year term.
"I really look forward to the opportunity to serve and to exchange thoughts with my fellow contractors and the chapter executives who work with them,” he said. “I’ve been very fortunate in my life. It’s a debt I owe to those who got me here. Over the next year, I pledge to do three things: No. 1: chip away at that debt; No. 2: listen and share with our members; and No. 3: continue to learn from my fellow contractors.”
Gast previously was on the SMACNA board from 2007-2011 and serves as vice chairman as of the association’s Budget and Finance Committee and is on the Investment Committee and a management trustee of the Sheet Metal Industry Labor Management Cooperation Fund.
