A replacement fan coil unit from International Environmental Corp. has won an award from an HVAC market trade publication.

The company’s ReStoraMOD modular high-rise replacement fan coil was given a gold award in the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News Dealer Design Award. The company won first place in the light-commercial HVAC equipment category.

“The ReStoraMOD replaces most existing high-rise fan coil units with the latest in energy-saving and IAQ (indoor air quality) features, including an optional ECM (electronically communitated motor),” said company product manager Darren Mounts. “Extensive research was performed at the individual market level and through key contacts in the hospitality and multifamily vertical markets with respect to growth in the renovation market. With so many older vertical stack and modular high-rise units out there, many owners are in the midst of the replace, remodel, or renew decision process. The ReStoraMOD offers the advantages of replacing a unit without the costly delays and downtime.”

Mike Murphy, News publisher, said the awards are designed to reward the manufacturers of innovative products. An independent panel of HVAC construction contractors makes the decision.

"These awards give us a unique opportunity to recognize the outstanding research and development efforts that go into many of the products serving the HVACR industry, and to feature innovative installation and service solutions," Murphy said.

International Environmental Corp. President Dennis Kloster said he was honored to be picked for the award.

“It is a proud moment for all the hard-working members of the IEC team, to be recognized for excellence in innovation,” Kloster said. “Innovation continues to be one of IEC’s key competitive advantages.”
