ASHRAE event will talk about developing economies
An upcoming ASHRAE conference will tackle the unique challenges of designing and operating buildings in developing countries.
The Efficient, High Performance Buildings for Developing Economies Conference will take place April 24-25 in Manila, Philippines. The event is organized by the American Society of Heating, Refrigeration and Air-Conditioning Engineers, and its Philippines chapter. Sponsors include the Air-Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration Institute and it is endorsed by the International Association of Plumbing and Mechanical Officials.
The conference is to include green HVAC discussions and speakers from a dozen countries including architects and engineers on HVAC construction topics.
“Our presenters and attendees will come together to address the challenges facing developing countries in sustainable construction, such as rapidly growing energy demand, population density and urbanization,” said conference co-chairman Ashish Rakheja. “The conference focuses on aspects relating to design, construction and operation of high performance buildings, including the HVAC and R industry’s role in meeting this objective.”
